Casa do Boneco Afro-Dances
Every Thursday and Saturday, Master Jorge and the boys from the community present afro-indigenous dances, such as the maculelê and the puxada de rede (inspired by the fishing routine on the sea). Get to know this project which is the result of workshops designed to value the black culture. These have been promoted by the Casa do Boneco NGO on Concha Beach for the last 20 years.
The excursion begins at 9:00 a.m. with a short lecture about the humpback whales. After that, it’s time to get onboard and go up the Itacaré coast in search of the giant mammals that flee the cold Antarctic waters to reproduce and give birth in the Bahia seacoast. This excursion is only available between July and September.
The beach is part of a farm and attracts both those who seek waves and those who want to swim in freshwaters. It is also possible to take a raft ride through mangroves and visit the Usina Waterfall. These tours must be paid separately and accompanied by a guide.
Hiking on the Costão Trail
The Costão Trail begins on the Arruda Beach and crosses five other beaches: Jeribucaçu, Engenhoca, Hawaizinho, Camboinha and Itacarezinho. During this beautiful journey, you can mix walks on the sand, trails in the bush and climbs on the rocky coasts that form lookouts that are ideal to rest and admire the view.
Rafting on the Contas River
For most of the course, which begins in Chapada Diamantina, the river waters are calm. But, if you are experienced in rafting and tubing, get ready. As you approach Itacaré, in the area of the Taboquinhas community, the river gets rough with rapids and waterfalls that will make your adventure perfect.
The beach is formed by the sea and the Contas River. It has a great tourism infrastructure and attracts fans of canoeing and windsurfing. The beach also includes the Ponta do Xaréu, where people get together to watch the beautiful sunset in Itacaré.
One of the best beaches in the region, with good waves throughout the year, it is a paradise for surfers in Bahia. Here you can dive and also watch sea turtles hatching. It has restaurants and bars with seafood delicacies.
